Philly & Keely
We got married in 2010, spent the next three years setting up a sweet lives for ourselves in our home town. However, something about it just didn’t feel like this was our whole story - it was just a chapter of our lives.
When we turned 26 we knew something had to change, fast forward one year and we are celebrating our 27th birthdays in a campervan on East coast of Australia, we travelled Japan, Indonesia and Singapore. After a year abroad we weren’t the same, we couldn’t go back to our old life, so we moved to London. When we were 29 we back packed across Europe, when we were 30 we travelled across Laos, Thailand and Cambodia, and at 31 we went to Japan for the second time (our favourite country so far).
London had started with Keely training to be a teacher, then Philly heading to Uni at 29 to study music, but at 32 those chapters were over and it was time to move onto something new, so we quit our jobs and hit the road. We started “Chapter by Chapter” whilst travelling in South America and Canada for six months. Upon returning to London we entered a new chapter of our lives…. Van life!
That is where we are now, living in a van we’ve converted ourselves on the streets of London. We did stationary UK vanlife for one year and have spent the last 3.5 years exploring Europe and beyond in our tiny home on wheels. We’ve had many ups and downs, from breaking down, being robbed, being crashed in to, having our van attacked & vandalised, the van catching fire and lots of border crossing dramas, it’s definitely been eventful! Hopefully we will have many more exciting adventures and chapters of our life to share with you. We hope to never settle for a one-dimensional story, life is too precious a thing to waste.
